CBS News Broadcast Package by 5dotfive | K.A. Batcha

K.A. Batcha is a talented young motion graphics artist living in L.A. I came across his work a couple weeks ago on Behance. He’s got tons of high-profile mograph design projects on display in his Behance profile. He’s got Fox sports broadcast packages and even the Oscars under his belt.

Over the years, I’ve seen lots of station ID graphics for local news. We all have; They’re a dime a dozen! But that doesn’t mean they’re a wasted opportunity in meaningful, engaging design. I think Batcha does a great job here of breathing new life into the tired cliches we see so much in station ID motion graphics (glassy, shiny, nondescript circles and dashed lines floating in space to eventually form the station or network logo). You can see from the examples below that he takes us into a bright, inviting environment, and even though the graphics swipe across the screen at a very fast pace from time to time, they’re overall graphic treatment is soft. I think it hits all the right notes
