From the mind of Florian Renner. I love the beautifully rendered, shiny Delorean in this piece. The Delorean has always been one of my favorite cars (even though it performs like a pontoon boat), and Renner depicts it driving swiftly through a futuristic cityscape filled with neon lights. I’m sure John Delorean had this atmosphere in mind when he created his masterpiece back in the early 80’s. Renner uses a classic 1980’s color palette against a black background, giving us that classic neon 80’s mood. You can’t help but think of Tron when you watch. Nice work, Florian, and great music choice too. See the full animation HERE ...

I’m a huge fan of 3D typography. I’m a fan of typography in general, wether it’s hand-made or made on a computer, but 3D type is definitely my favorite. It brings a whole new life to type, as if it’s a real object you could reach out and touch. Every once in a while, someone makes a piece like this one that creates a larger-than-life atmosphere. I feel like if I were standing next to these letters that they would tower over me by 15 feet. I only wish that Hudson had posted an animated version of this piece. Either way, Great work Hudson! ...

Sergey Nazarov’s Vizart animation is a big inspiration to me. He puts a great amount of detail and realism into this steampunk-esqu engine rig. The finishing touches include glowing bulbs and tubes, steam, smoke and particles. He’s got great use of texture here too. We see everything from shiny glass, to old weathered iron, to rubber tubing. Gotta love that attention to detail! See the full animation on Vimeo: Vizart Machine ...
